Adopt-a-Caseworker

What is Adopt-a-Caseworker?                                                                                                       New Picture
The Adopt-a-Caseworker program matches churches, church groups, businesses, civic groups, community groups and individuals/families with a Foster Care or foster care prevention Caseworker in Greene County, Missouri. Caseworkers tell their community partner the specific needs of children & families on their caseload. Whether it's cleaning supplies, birthday gifts or a bed, any group can make a difference!

This program allows local community members to make a direct difference in the lives of local abused & neglected children. By "adopting" the Caseworker, the child/family confidentiality is protected, only legitimate needs are shared, and the Caseworker delivers the items directly to the children & families. Then the Partner Groups get to hear the stories of gratitude, joy, reunifications with parents & adoptions--all to which they contributed! Our Partner Groups even get to help older youth aging out of foster care furnish & prepare their first apartments!

This is the first Adopt-a-Caseworker program in the State of Missouri and only 3 similar programs exist in the Nation. We have received attention statewide & beyond for this program and have served over 1,181 local children since 2009 through over 5,900 donated items with an estimated in-kind value of over $60,000!

*As of January 2012, we have 28 Caseworkers still waiting to be Adopted.
