2019 Celebrate Compassion Dinner

We are excited about this year’s Celebrate Compassion Recognition Dinner for our Volunteers and Donors. It is not every day that you are blessed to have 50 Years of service to the Ozarks. It could not be possible if it were not for the support of these fabulous individuals, churches, and businesses that make it possible to provide services to over 107,000 people a year. You are #MoreThan a Supporter. You are Family.

All donors and volunteers associated with Council of Churches’ Outreach Services are invited. Tickets are free, but donations are appreciated to help offset the cost of dinner.

Thursday, September 26th
White River Conference Center
Doors open at 5:30 pm
Dinner begins at 6:00 pm

Awards to Be Given This Year

Volunteer of the Year Award – This award recognizes an individual volunteer from each of our Outreach Services that rely on volunteers every day to operate.  One award for each of the Outreach Services: Ambassadors for Children, Crosslines, Ombudsman, Safe to Sleep, RSVP and The One Stop.  This volunteer’s efforts have significantly contributed to the ability of these outreaches to compassionately clothe, feed, shelter, encourage, and love people in our community.

Business of the Year Award – This award recognizes a business or organization (not a church) whose volunteering, leadership and philanthropy efforts have significantly contributed to the ability of the Council of Churches and or one of its nine Outreaches to serve our under-resourced neighbors.

Church of the Year Award – This award recognizes a church or church organization whose volunteering, leadership and philanthropy efforts have significantly contributed to the ability of the Council of Churches and or one of its nine Outreaches to serve our under-resourced neighbors.

Church Collaboration of the Year Award – This award recognizes creative collaboration among churches, church organizations, and/or businesses for the purpose of working together to improve the lives of vulnerable people.  This award embodies the mission of the Council of Churches – “doing together what best can be done together in the name of Jesus Christ.”

Legacy of Caring Award – This award, new to our Recognition Dinner and inspired by the compassion shown in life by Bill Foster Jr., recognizes an individual who continuously demonstrates the love and compassion of Christ through exceptional initiative and commitment in meeting or exceeding the needs of our neighbors through service in one or more of the CCO outreaches. This award is given in conjunction with the Council of Churches Foundation and nominations received for this award will be reviewed by the Bill Foster Jr. Family and the award will be presented by the Council of Churches Foundation.

Hands on Service Lifetime Achievement Award –  This award recognizes a church whose long-standing dedication to demonstrating the love and compassion of Christ to the community has contributed to Council of Churches’ ability to continuously achieve its mission for 50 years.

Dorsey Levell Lifetime Achievement Award – This award recognizes an individual for outstanding dedication to the core values of the Council of Churches (Christ-Loving, Compassionate, Non-judgmental/Inclusive, Empowering) and dedication to the service and love for God’s people through a combination of leadership, service, and philanthropy.  This award recognizes an individual who not only contributes to the mission but embodies the mission in love and compassion for our neighbors.
