The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) utilizes the experience and compassion of adults 55 and older to inspire hope in children through tutoring and mentoring.
Volunteers help Pre-k through third graders develop the social, emotional, and literacy skills needed to be successful in school and in life. They also provide grocery shopping services and social engagement to homebound Greene County seniors.
Eligibility Requirements
Students are referred to the program by their teachers. RSVP is free and accessible for all pre-K through third-grade students in participating schools.

Math Buddy
A Math Buddy volunteer meets with a Kindergarten through 3rd-grade student during the school day to improve math fluency in a fun and engaging method. Math Buddy volunteers lead hands-on activities and play math games one-on-one with a student, fostering positive self-esteem and demonstrating students can succeed. RSVP trains Math Buddies and provides resources to support students’ learning. The Math Buddy program is available in Springfield Public Schools.
