In the spirit of spreading love and joy during the holiday season, Crosslines, a program of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks, successfully hosted its annual Christmas Food & Toy Distribution at the Ozark Empire Fair Grounds on December 16th. The event, powered by the efforts of over 700 dedicated volunteers, aimed to provide a festive and fulfilling experience for the 880 guests in attendance. Â
One of the primary objectives of this annual event is to ensure that families in need receive not only the essentials for a hearty Christmas meal but also the joy of unwrapping presents. This year, with the help of various partners in the community, the volunteers worked tirelessly to assemble and distribute Christmas food baskets to over 1,500 families, spreading warmth and holiday cheer. Â
The event’s highlight was the distribution of over 10,000 gifts to children in the local area. The number of presents reflects the community’s generosity and commitment to making Christmas a special time for every child, regardless of their family’s economic situation. Â
Among the many guests who benefited from Crosslines’ Christmas Food & Toy Distribution, one individual shared their heartfelt gratitude for the program’s impact on their holiday season. Â
Tammy Johnson, a mother of three who attended the event, expressed her appreciation, saying, “I cannot say how much this means to my family. Times have been tough, and we weren’t sure how to provide our children with a joyful Christmas. Crosslines has truly been a blessing.” Â
She continued, “The food basket ensures that we can enjoy a festive meal together, and the toys bring smiles to my kids’ faces that I haven’t seen in a while. It’s more than just gifts; it’s a reminder that our community cares.” Â
The Christmas Food & Toy Distribution not only meets immediate needs but also serves as a reminder that communities can come together during challenging times to make a significant impact. Crosslines’ commitment to spreading joy and relief is reflected in the gratitude of families like Mrs. Johnson’s. Â
As Crosslines continues its mission to serve the community, the success of the Christmas Food & Toy Distribution stands as a testament to the power of collective compassion and the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need during the holiday season.Â
